Here is the list Lincoln wrote on paper that Amy then translated to email (some of the list)

I said Amy translated some of the list. I'll translate a bit more. On the third column he has "A real sized car. A fish and a gold fish. A Cat. A dog. A hamster." Just for the record, no live animals will be accepted as gifts!

Now, here is what he wrote on the back of one of the lists.

In case you can’t read what he wrote, it says “Get all you can”. I’m glad to see we are raising a son with a lot of optimism!
