Baseball season opening day!

Yesterday was opening day for Cade. The weather was lovely, 59 degrees, cloudy, and drizzling! What more can you ask for in April?

Cade made his pitching debut, in relief. He did a good job, striking out the side and only giving up one run.

DSC_0220 Papa and Nana were able to experience the game with us.

DSC_0216 Once again, Wyatt is the ultimate fan…although he wanted to play on the playground equipment at the school nearby.

The end is in sight….finally!

By this time tomorrow night, the contractor should be finished with his part of the remodeling! We just need to touch up some paint and finish cleaning and putting things away. It looks awesome and it is very functional.

This is part of the dining room wall that we striped again. I’m not sure how well the striping shows up in the picture.

Our Florida Destin-ation

a house a sign

We finally got to Florida on Saturday and the picture on the top is the house we stayed in for the week that we were here. In the next picture Wyatt, Lincoln, and I are standing in front of the sign for our house and as you can see the sign says Lucky Dog and heated pool.

a pool a pool 2

Speaking of the pool, the first day we swam in the pool the temper-ature was 100 degrees! Everyday since then the pool has been fine.

a jellyfish Every day that we went to the beach we couldn’t swim because there were so many jellyfish floating in the water. We learned that you can pick up the jellyfish as long as there weren’t brown tentacles attached to them.a kids eating Everyone in our family had to get out of the pool from 11:00 to 1:00, so we were all wet and had to eat on the deck. Luckily there was a screen so the bees couldn’t get in when we had root beer floats.

We saw a little gecko in the pool area and it’s body is all shrive led up. We also saw another one by the outdoor shower and this one was alive.

a chess boardThere was a giant chess board that could turn into a checker board. The chess pieces were about 8’ tall. The checkers were about 5’ wide. a early beach

One morning at about 6:30 in the morning, Wyatt, Lincoln, dad, and mom went down to the beach while I was still sleeping. If you want to know what they did there you’ll have to ask them.a footprint(lincoln) We took a walk on the beach and here is one of Lincolns footprints in the sand. We came across a little bay that had nasty brown-black water in it like somebody dumped a whole bunch of oil in the water.a feet Destin sign That is pretty much everything we did this week and if we think of anything else we’ll update the blog!
